is in a retail center on the southeast corner of Bissonnet
and I-59 South. Access from I-59 is via the Bissonnet
exit, going in either direction.
The Pet Vet Southwest Freeway veterinarians are:
Oswell
Jaxxon, D.V.M.
Doctor Jaxxon graduated from Tuskegee University in
1974 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. He began his
career with Pet Vet in October of 1988. Prior to joining
Pet Vet Doctor Jaxxon was with BVC in Houston. He has
a cat and when he is not caring for pets he enjoys Bible
study.
Donald
L. Ross, D.V.M., M.S., Diplomate, American College of
Veterinary Dentistry
Doctor Ross, a native of Huntsville, graduated from
Texas A & M University in 1967 with degrees as a
Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Doctor of Veterinary
Medicine. Dr. Ross joined the Air Force and was base
veterinarian at Lackland Air Force base in San Antonio.
His primary duty was the care of Air Force guard dogs.
Many of these dogs were so powerful that they would
damage their teeth which rendered them useless as guard
dogs. By close association with human dentists at Lackland,
Dr. Ross became interested in the possibilities of veterinary
dentistry. He attended the University of Texas Dental
School in Houston, graduating in 1972 with a Master
of Science degree. He then opened the first veterinary
specialty practice in Houston, limiting his practice
exclusively to veterinary dentistry. Dr. Ross and Dr.
H.M. Mark founded the first Pet Vet hospital on the
Katy Freeway at Shepherd in 1976.
