The Pet Vet Animal Hospital serving the Southeast Houston and Clearlake areas is at 1520 West Bay Area Blvd at Baybrook Mall. Access is west on Bay Area Blvd off I-45 South and right into the second mall entrance. It is a free standing building in the mall parking lot. The hospital contains over 4,500 square feet and includes a spacious area for display of pet foods and supplies.

Dr. Steven Koenig, D.V.M.
Dr. Koenig is a native Texan. Born in 1955 in Corpus Christi, he graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in Pasadena, Texas. Following his graduation from Texas A & M Veterinary School in 1978, Dr. Koenig joined Pet Vet Animal Hospitals in 1986.

Dr. Koenig and his wife, Cathy, have a cat, a German Shepherd, a Blue Heeler and shih-tzu mix. He lives in Clear Lake City.



Dr. Venkata D. Boppana, D.V.M.
Dr. Boppana received his training to become a veterinarian in India in 1994. He earned a Master of Veterinary Science degree in parasitology in 1997. He worked as a diagnostic veterinarian and assistant professor of veterinary parasitology in India from 1999-2005. Dr. Boppana obtained his Doctor of Philosophy from TamilNadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University.. Moving to the United States in 2005, Dr. Boppana worked in the Northeast before joining UTMB Galveston as a research scientist at Center for Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Disease, Department of Pathology, Galveston National Laboratories in August, 2008. Dr. Boppana joined Pet Vet Animal Hospitals in 2010.

Dr. Boppana and his wife Suchitra have two daughters Sowmika and Pradhita, living in Friendswood.
