How to Reduce Age
Associated Risks to Your Pet
Around the age of seven, dogs and cats begin to enter
their "golden years." Luckily for most pets
this is only half their lives. The decisions you make
regarding exercise and nutrition have a big impact on
your older pet. You can help make the rest of your pet's
life healthier and happier. Although your pet may not
appear different at the age of seven, his or her dietary
and physical needs have changed enough that the feeding
and exercise routine you've grown used to may no longer
be ideal. You can reduce the risk of health problems
and help your older pet live a long, full life by having
regular veterinary care and nutrition that is specifically
designed for your older dog or cat.
7th Year Geriatric
Health Check
Because pets enter their mature years around the age
of seven, Pet Vet offers a special screening examination
designed to look for those diseases and conditions that
are more common in older pets.
The 7th Year Geriatric Health Check includes an assessment
of your pet's medical history to see if any risk patterns
exist. The check also may include exercise suggestions,
nutritional recommendations and screening for:
• Urinary Tract Disease
• Kidney Disease
• Heart Disease
• Diabetes Mellitus
• Skin Conditions
• Obesity

If
your pet is seven years or older, he or she may benefit
greatly from a Geriatric Health Check. Call Pet Vet today
