Your cat is a cool cat; he can take a little heat. But, there is no reason to make him do that. Instead, with temperatures soaring this summer, let your cat keep cool with you. You can be comfortable together with some good tips.
Grooming
You know how much your cat sheds. They have good reason for doing so, and in summer this helps them stay cool. Give them a helping hand with regular brushing. Do it a little every day, or at least every few days. The more well-groomed they are, the better they’ll be.
Cool Down
Your cat may hate baths, but water is a good thing. You can take a cool, wet cloth and just pet your cat with it. Put a bit on his paws since he sweats there. It’s an easy way to help him keep cool.
Extra Fans
It never hurts to have some extra air moving through the room. Use some small fans placed strategically to keep cool air moving around the room. You will get some benefit from this, too.
Drink Up
Keep plenty of water around for your cat. Never let the bowls go dry. You can even add a few pieces of ice to help keep things extra cool. Of course, your cat may find a new toy that way, too.
Dark Room
Blocking the sun from coming into your home helps keep entire house cooler. So use those curtains and blinds. Plus, your hard floors will cool down and your cat will love to rest on those cold floors when it’s hot. So, keep those hard floors uncovered.
Stay Inside
It’s always a better idea to have a cat live indoors only. This is because they will live longer away from the dangers outside. If you do have a cat that goes outside, put a stop to that until the weather cools.
