Puppy & Kitten Healthcare Packages

Welcoming a new puppy or kitten into your home is an exciting event, but it's not one that should be taken lightly. Your baby animal needs the same degree of health and wellness care that you might expect to give a human baby. Fortunately, Pet Vet Animal Hospitals makes it easier than ever to provide that level of care for Fort Bend County pets. That's because we provide puppy and kitten healthcare packages that deliver a number of essential wellness procedures in three organized phases.

Puppies and Kitties

The Need for Puppy and Kitten Wellness Care

Puppies and kittens have special needs, just as senior pets or pets with chronic medical conditions have special issues that require extra attention from our veterinarian. For starters, they can "inherit" health problems such as internal parasites from their mothers. An initial puppy or kitten exam should be administered within the first weeks of life to check for such problems so de-worming or other measures can help correct them. Vaccinations are another critical wellness step for puppies and kittens since many common infectious diseases can prove fatal on the first exposure. Puppies and kittens commonly need a series of core vaccinations. Some pets may also need additional protection against diseases such as feline leukemia.

Packaged Services from Our Fort Bend County Veterinarian

Keeping up with all the different preventative health measures your puppy or kitten needs can be a confusing challenge -- but puppy and kitten healthcare packages from our Fort Bend veterinarian make it a breeze. Each package consists of three major wellness visits which we call PUP 1, PUP 2 or PUP 3 (or KIT 1, KIT 2, and KIT 3). They include:

  • PUP/KIT 1: (6 to 8 weeks): Puppy or kitten exam, de-worming, parasite testing and control, and DHLPP or FVRCP combined vaccination
  • PUP/KIT 2 : (9 to 13 weeks): Prophylactic deworm, puppy or kitten exam, parasite control, second round of vaccinations (plus feline leukemia)
  • PUP/KIT 3: (14 to 16 weeks): Repeat of PUP/KIT 2 procedures, plus a rabies vaccination

Our puppy and kitten healthcare packages aren't the only wellness services we provide. We can also provide dental care; spay/neuter services, nutritional guidance and more.
