Yearly/Semi-annual Examination for Your Pets

The cornerstone of good health for your adult pet is the annual Comprehensive Healthcare visit with your Pet Vet Hospital.  A comprehensive examination by one of our Doctors of Veterinary Medicine is critical to assure that your family member is in good health.   Our pets age much faster than we do so problems may have developed since your pet’s last examination. An ongoing evaluation and assessment is critical in managing your pet’s health.  If an issue is discovered our doctors are trained and experienced to make recommendations as to the best course of action.

Prevention of disease with routine vaccines is essential.  Protection against Rabies is mandated by law and vaccinations against viral diseases and other infectious agents are essential to the well being of your pet.  Detection of internal and external parasites is critical in our Gulf Coast region.  Both heartworms and fleas are a year round concern due to our mild climate.  Effective preventatives are available to protect your pet against both as well as to protect your family against fleas.  An experienced Pet Vet staff member is your best resource to determine what products are best for your pet and you.

With the advances in Veterinary medicine many of our pets are now on long term medications.  Many of these medications require that your pet be monitored periodically to be sure the medications are effective and that the dose remains correct.  Periodic monitoring may be necessary to refill these prescriptions. The annual or a semi-annual visit is a good time to address those specific needs.
